Legitimeter

Frequently asked questions

What does Legitimeter do?

It adds clear labels to the pages you already browse, showing when an account looks automated, when activity looks coordinated, and when an image is likely AI-generated, each with the evidence behind it.

Which browsers are supported?

Legitimeter is built for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, with Safari and Opera to follow. Store listings are on the way; the install buttons switch on as each store approves the extension.

Does it read my private messages or passwords?

No. Legitimeter only analyses public content on the pages you view. Private messages, drafts and credentials are never collected. See the Privacy Policy.

Does it browse or crawl on my behalf?

Never. It only looks at what your browser already loaded as part of your normal browsing. It does not open pages, click, or collect data in the background.

Is a label a final verdict?

No. Labels are probabilistic signals with the evidence shown, not accusations. A person using AI tools is not the same as an automated account, and Legitimeter treats them differently.

I think a label is wrong. What can I do?

Use the dispute link on the label, or email us to request a review with the page address. No account is needed.

How do payments work?

Paid plans are sold through Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment, tax and invoicing; we never see your full card details.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Yes. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. See the Refund policy.
